About Us
The Pitchford name has been associated with quality pipe organ building since the 1950's. This family owned and run business originally with Ted Pitchford and Stuart Garside at the helm, calling the business, Pitchford & Garside Organ Builders.
Darrell Pitchford (son of Ted and expert pipe organ builder) joined the firm in the 1970's and continued on improving his father and Stuart's legacy eventually to become the owner and operator of DA & CM Pitchford Organ Builders in the early 2000's.
Since then, Darrell has passed on his many years of experience and wisdom to today's owner of Pitchford Organ Builders, Mr Matthew Richards. Matthew, like all before him has continued the same level of quality & expertise that has long been associated with the Pitchford name.
With Darrell's continued involvement in the firm it today boasts more than 70 years collective experience in all aspects of pipe organ building.

Restorations
The Pitchford name has been associated with the highest quality restorations for many decades. We have restored many historic instruments including the one depicted above, St Brigid's Marrickville. Button below links to full article on Sydney Organ. No restoration is to large or small. We have a proven track record in restoring mechanical, pneumatic, electro pneumatic and electric actions.
Relocations
Pitchford understands the daunting & delicate nature of organ relocation. Our process and meticulous level of care ensures the integrity of every instrument we relocate. Pictured above is a recent relocation and part resoration of St Paul's Canterbury mechanical action organ dating back to the 1860's. Hand blowing apparatus retained.
